PBT: New Works

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre presents seven inventive world premieres created by emerging choreographers among its own company dancers: Amanda Cochrane, Julia Erickson, Yoshiaki Nakano, Jessica McCann, William Moore, JoAnna Schmidt and Cooper Verona. Experience the artistry and athleticism of ballet from new angles and support the next generation of dance makers. There will be two different programs, each featuring different choreographers.

Fri., Mar.16: Afterthoughts

Begins immediately after the 8 p.m. performance. Wrap up the evening with this lively talk-back with tonight’s choreographers: Principal dancers Amanda Cochrane and Yoshiaki Nakano, and corps de ballet dancers JoAnna Schmidt and William Moore. Located at the front of the orchestra section in the theater; no reservations necessary.


Sat., March 17, 7 – 7:30 p.m: Insights

A preview of the ballets with tonight’s choreographers and Artistic Director Terrence S. Orr. Registration requested online here or email education@pittsburghballet.org.


Sun., Mar. 18, 1 – 1:30 p.m: Talks with Terry

Never seen ballet class before? This is your chance! Watch a few minutes of the end of the company’s warm-up class on stage; then Artistic Director Terrence S. Orr rounds out the program with a ballet preview and a Q & A with the audience. On the balcony in the theater, no reservations necessary.


Sun., Mar. 25, 2 p.m: Audio-described performance

A live narrative of the ballet for patrons with vision impairment. Click here for more information.
