Byham House occupies three floors in a historic, 7,000-square-foot property located in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood, just six blocks from PBT studios. Byham House is a co-ed housing opportunity with accommodations for up to 20 students.
Byham House offers single or shared room options with separate floors and bathrooms for males and females. Live-in staff members maintain strict rules for visiting and socializing. PBT provides bedroom essentials (bed, dresser or armoire) for every student. We encourage students to decorate their rooms to help them feel at home.
The lounge serves as the social center of the house. This is where students hold weekly house meetings, celebrate birthdays, share movie nights and watch TV together.
Byham House offers private and group space for studying, tutoring and exam proctoring. Students can access Wi-Fi in all rooms and common areas.
Byham House offers a communal dining experience to all residents as well as flexible accommodations based on individual schedules. We serve nutritious meals prepared with a young athlete’s needs in mind. Provisions will be available for other meals. Byham House features a fully equipped kitchen (including microwave, pots, pans, dishes and utensils) and a dining room.
Whether it’s a trip to Ohiopyle State Park, trying a famous Primanti’s sandwich in the Strip District, or attending an arts, cultural, or sporting event in Pittsburgh, Byham House residents are sure to enjoy occasional group trips organized by house staff.
Rules and Guidelines
Upon enrollment into our program, each Byham House resident and guardian will receive a Resident Handbook with rules and responsibilities. Curfews and rules regarding use of drugs and alcohol as well as policies regarding visitors and overnight absences are clearly defined in this handbook.
