PBT Studios, the home of both our company and school, is located in Pittsburgh’s vibrant Strip District neighborhood.
Located just 10 minutes from the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, this historic community is known for its markets, eclectic shops and local vendors, and is conveniently located along public transportation routes.
Our newly expanded facilities feature:
7 Spacious Dance Studios
Our seven studios feature sprung Harlequin floors, the industry standard for dancer health and safety. The majority of classes feature live accompaniment by PBT’s talented team of pianists and musicians. Our students train in the same facilities as our company and enjoy regular exposure to our professional dancers and artistic leaders.

The Hilda & Dr. Freddie Fu Dance & Sports Conditioning Center
The Hilda and Dr. Freddie Fu Dance & Sports Conditioning Center features reformers, “Cadillacs” and other apparatus for Pilates practice, a cross training method of choice for many advanced dancers. Students can schedule private sessions with one of PBT’s licensed Pilates instructors, who specialize in conditioning for dancers. The center also includes cardio equipment and Gyrotonic apparatus.
Access to the specialized care of UPMC Sports Medicine experts
Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre enjoys a close relationship with UPMC Sports Medicine, which staffs a weekly residency at PBT Studios. Advanced students have the opportunity to use the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine facilities and consult with experts when needed. The UPMC Center for Sports Medicine is known for its Musculoskeletal Research Center and is the preferred healthcare provider for PBT, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
