Updated August 6, 2020: Now Offering Limited Outdoor Classes!
PBT School’s Community Division will offer limited in-person morning classes outside during the month of August. Classes will take place on PBT’s new mobile stage, which will be set up in the PBT studio parking lot. Classes will be held weather permitting, and will be cancelled due to rain or other inclement weather.
POLICIES AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
- All community division members must sign the new waiver before participating in class. This waiver will only need to be signed once.
- Do not attend if you are feeling COVID symptoms. A wellness screening and temperature reading will be conducted prior to class.
- All personnel on PBT property must wear masks, including during class.
- All community division members must bring their own mat to class.
- Personal items should be limited. Please arrive dressed and ready as locker rooms are closed.
- Limited non-essential building entry, restroom use is for emergencies only.
- Classes will be limited to 8 people per class to ensure physical distancing.
- There will be no physical contact or corrections from faculty during class.
Please review the liability waiver before coming to studios for class. All attendees will need to sign the waiver upon arrival and before you are able to take class.
Class sizes are limited, registering in advance is required.
Brush up your battements at the barre or learn plié for the first time in our Beginner–Advanced ballet classes. Find strength and grace through the classic art form in the place where ballet is at the heart of all we do.
Beginning Ballet is designed for the adult student, who has little or no prior ballet experience or is easing back into ballet. Each class begins at barre and ends with a vigorous series of ballet combinations at center. Classes feature live piano accompaniment. Suggested attire: comfortable, fitted athletic attire. Socks or ballet slippers.
Intermediate classes require prior ballet experience. Students will learn new combinations and expand their movement vocabulary from the beginning level. Classes feature live piano accompaniment. Suggested attire: comfortable, fitted athletic attire. Socks or ballet slippers.
Advanced classes require prior ballet experience. Students will build increasingly complex combinations at barre and center. Classes feature live piano accompaniment. Suggested attire: comfortable, fitted athletic attire. Socks or ballet slippers.

Set to the funky fresh beats of today and yesterday, Beginning Hip-Hop is open to all levels. Join the movement with a perfect mix of cardio and choreography. Suggested attire: comfortable, fitted athletic attire. Sneakers or jazz shoes.
This high impact class is structured to give the working dancer continued training in the world of commercial dance. Class will begin with a traditional warm up, followed by combination-based learning. Emphasis will be placed on execution, style, proper weight distribution, and overall performance value. Occasionally, elements of jazz-funk/street jazz and various street styles genres will be explored. Geared toward individuals that are comfortable with a high-intensity and fast-paced learning environment. Suggested attire: comfortable, fitted athletic attire. Sneakers or jazz shoes.
This open level contemporary class will investigate concepts of contemporary jazz and modern techniques through warm-up, floor exercises and combinations. Modifications will be given to accommodate various skill and comfort levels. Suggested attire: comfortable exercise apparel with socks or jazz shoes.
PBT Barre Fitness
Step up to the barre for a challenging workout that combines the principles of ballet with strength-training and sculpting exercises, cardio and stretching. Suggested attire: comfortable exercise apparel with sticky socks or ballet slippers.
Pilates provides a systematic workout to increase range of motion, strength, flexibility, and alignment. Mats are provided, but it is recommended to bring your own. Must be able to freely move up and down from the floor. Suggested attire: comfortable fitness attire and socks.
Exercise strength, agility and flexibility through these express classes with shorter class times to keep exercise a part of your busy schedule or to get a taste of our full-length dance and fitness programs.
Students learn pointe work essentials and begin integrating it in their center combinations. Classes feature live piano accompaniment. Students must receive instructor endorsement before beginning en pointe. Class duration is 30 minutes. Suggested attire: comfortable, fitted athletic attire. Socks or ballet slippers. Pointe shoes required.
For dancers, building a strong core is key to optimal performance. This 30-minute express class focuses on strengthening abdominal and lower back muscles with Pilates-based exercises. Suitable for all fitness levels. Suggested attire: comfortable, fitted athletic attire and socks.
PBT Barre Fitness Express
This class combines ballet principles with strength-training exercises, stretching. This 45 minute workout will consist of dynamic, total body exercises at the barre. All exercises are low impact. Comfortable exercise apparel is recommended. Suggested attire: comfortable exercise apparel with sticky socks or ballet slippers.
Pilates Mat Express
Increase range of motion, strength, flexibility, and alignment in this condensed, 45-minute noontime class. Mats are provided, but it is recommended to bring your own. Must be able to freely move up and down from the floor. Suggested attire: comfortable fitness attire and socks.
