Join PBT’s Director of Education and fellow educators, and delve into the rich history, dancing, and music of the upcoming production. Explore fun and educational ways to incorporate the ballet into your classroom and prepare students to attend a performance. Student Matinees: Thursday, March 14 and Friday March 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. August Wilson Center.
Teachers bringing students to a matinee have access to our Educator Portal, with instructional materials, handouts, musical excerpts and more. The page is password protected: teachers will receive a password prior to the workshop.
PD Workshop Fast Facts
Act 48 hours: 4+ hours available!
Cost: FREE for educators bringing students to the corresponding matinee, or $60 (includes breakfast, lunch, and resource materials)
Bus funding: Attending the workshop entitles qualifying schools to apply for bus funding assistance. Find more information here.

Teacher Resource Guides
PBT’s Education team designs teacher resource guides to help you enhance your students’ experience at the ballet. The guides provide curricular support with contextual information and activities that align with PDE Academic Standards. Other educational materials, including CDs, fabric samples, and more, may also be available.

TEACH at PBT Advisory Group
We are looking for your educational expertise! Join “TEACH at PBT:”
This advisory group will meet five times a year to:
- Impact PBT education programs through participation, input and reflection
- Brainstorm new offerings and revise current education programs
- Network with other educators in Southwestern Pennsylvania
- See behind-the-scenes action at the ballet
