Lisa Wimer
Pianist

Lisa Wimer attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania where she received a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Education (piano). She earned a Master of Music in Sacred Music (Voice Performance) at Duquesne University, with additional studies at Carnegie-Mellon University. Ms. Wimer has been a vocal soloist and teacher for 30 years and an accompanist for more than 40 years. As a vocal soloist she performed throughout Europe as well as here in the United States. Lisa Wimers’ teaching career includes work as Musical Director for the Clarion University Theatre Department, Voice Instructor at Pointe Park University, as well as varied experiences teaching in Private, Parochial and Public schools. In 2015, Lisa retired from the Pittsburgh Public School District where she taught Band, Chorus, Strings, Orchestra and Musical Theater. During her tenure with the Pittsburgh Public Schools, she was chosen as Director of the All City Chorus, Lead Music Curriculum Writer and Liaison for Teaching and Learning Environment. Although she has taught and performed for many years, Ms. Wimer’s true passion lies in the art of piano accompaniment. She was an accompanist and substitute conductor for The Children’s Festival Chorus of Pittsburgh, pianist for The New World Singers European concert tour, and accompanist for the theatre Department at Clarion University. Her greatest joy, however, is in ballet accompaniment. She has been an accompanist for Region Dance America, Pittsburgh Youth Ballet and Company, Allegheny Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School and Company and has worked with dancers/teachers from all over the world. Currently Lisa in is her 25th year at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre where she accompanies classes of all levels and assists with training incoming accompanists.
