Kaila Lewis

Kaila is a native of Pittsburgh. She trained as a student at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School after receiving the Lynn Swann Scholarship. She continued through the school’s student division, Schenley High School program and the graduate program. She attended summer intensives such as North Carolina Dance Theatre, Boston Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet. She had childhood performance opportunities with New York City Ballet at Saratoga and The Radio City Rockettes. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Point Park University in 2010, with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Dance Pedagogy. She had many performance opportunities with Point Park University and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School. Kaila has been teaching at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School since 2006, and became the Children’s Division Coordinator in 2014. She appreciatively worked under the mentorship of Anastasia Wovchko in the beginning of her teaching career. In 2021, Kaila became an ABT Certified Teacher in Levels Pre-Primary through Level 5 of the ABT National Training Curriculum.
