Kick off The Nutcracker season in Pittsburgh on Sunday, Nov. 21!
Spend your pre-Thanksgiving Sunday at PBT Studios for an enchanting afternoon filled with class samplings, performance excerpts, take-home crafts, photo opportunities and more!
Over the course of the afternoon, you and your family can celebrate the season as children learn ballet basics, listen to the famed story, experience the magic of PBT School Pre-Professionals dancing Act II of The Nutcracker and conclude the day with a craft packet to complete at home. In addition to these activities, families can be on the lookout for appearances from the Sugar Plum Fairy and stop by our photo booth to capture memories in front of a festive backdrop.
We welcome all audiences to this afternoon, which includes activities and performances suited for guests with sensory sensitivities and individualized needs. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your admission for this exciting event today!

This event is not designed for unaccompanied children; all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the selected session.

Individuals ages 12+ will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination record (hard copy or digital) upon entrance. In general, individuals are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.
Guests who require a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or because of a sincerely held religious belief are required to show proof of negative COVID-19 clinical test with a printed date and time and result that meets one of the following requirements:
- The test is a PCR test taken no more than 72-hours before the event, show, visit, etc. OR
- The test is a rapid antigen test taken no more than 24-hours before the event, show, visit, etc.
At this time, PBT does not require tests for children who are not vaccine-eligible.
All guests – regardless of vaccination status – must wear a facial covering at all times while inside the facility.
