PBT School Student Yoshiaki Nakano Wins Silver Medal!

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School student, Yoshiaki Nakano won the Silver Medal at the World Ballet Competition in Orlando, Florida this past weekend.
Yoshiaki was part of PBT School's Graduate Program this past year, and was offered a contract with our company, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre for the 2010-2011 season!
Congratulations to Yoshiaki!

Spring Performance 2010
Friday, May 28th, 7:00pm
A performance featuring more than 180 students of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School’s Student and Pre-Professional Divisions, presented on stage at the beautiful Byham Theatre in Downtown Pittsburgh.
Friday, May 28th, 7:00pm – $25.50 Adults; $21.50 Children under 12
(Additional ticket fees may apply)
Student Division students take the stage in the grand processional and in Carnival of the Animals, a work conceived and choreographed by PBTS Principal Anastasia Wovchko, with musical score by Camille Saint-Saëns and narrated by WQED Radio Personality Anna Singer. Pre-Professional student performances may include excerpts from Tarantella, Études, Le Corsaire, and premieres from PBTS faculty member Alan Obuzor and renowned choreographer, Viktor Plotnikov. Open to the public.

Pre-Professional Showcases 2010
Friday, May 14th, 7:00pm --- Saturday, May 15th, 1:00pm & 7:00pm --- Sunday, May 16th, 1:00pm
A weekend of performance and creativity featuring the talented students of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School’s Pre-Professional Division, presented at Point Park University’s George Rowland White Performance Studio.
Features students of the PBTS Pre-Professional Division in performances of new, classical, and contemporary works. Programs may include excerpts from Tarantella, Études, Flames of Paris, Le Corsaire, the Pas de Trois and Rose Adagio from Sleeping Beauty, and premieres from PBTS faculty member Alan Obuzor and renowned choreographer, Viktor Plotnikov. Open to the public.
Pre-Professional Showcase tickets may be purchased for $15/ea through the PBT School Office (412-281-6727) after April 15.
Parents, students, dancers & PBT friends…
Do you have a passion for the arts and love talking to new people? Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and SD&A Telemarketing are looking for enthusiastic people to sell subscriptions for the upcoming season. The telemarketing campaign will run from June through October but it is not necessary to work the entire campaign. Hours are 5-9 pm Monday through Friday and Saturday 11 am-3 pm, with a commitment of 16-24 hours each week. Telephone or sales experience preferred. The compensation is $8/hour plus commission. PBT School Acquires New Dorm for High School Students - Byham House
February, 2010
The acquired building is located at 3501 Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. The property was the former rectory for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, which is now the Church Brew Works restaurant. The three-story 7,000 square foot building is ideal for conversion into a student dormitory. PBT
will renovate the facility to provide dormitory-style housing for as many as 16 high school aged students at PBT School. Renovations will also include the addition of a suite for a full-time resident advisor.
PBT School plans to house High School students in the Byham House in the Fall of 2010
