Fall/Spring 2014-15 Classes
Grown-up & Me (Ages 18-24 months)
Grown-up & Me classes, ages eighteen to twenty-four months, offer an introduction to the art of ballet in a nurturing environment. Children begin to explore the world of dance through movement, music and rhythm.
Pre-Ballet (Ages 2-6)
Pre-Ballet classes, are offered for ages two to six. Imagery, imagination and self-expression are encouraged while developing a foundation for academic ballet technique.
Pre-Ballet Boys (Ages 4-5)
A lively class introducing movement and music to boys age 4-5. Proper alignment, coordination, and athleticism are emphasized.
Pre-Ballet Boys (Ages 6-8)
A lively class introducing movement and music to boys age 6-8. Proper alignment, coordination and athleticism are emphasized.
Preperatory Ballet A & B (ages 7-8)
The student expands beyond the previous level. Exercises that develop flexibility and strength accompany exercises for alignment and turn-out. Curriculum includes an additional day of training to prepare for Student Division. Requires prior ballet training and placement.
Ballet Foundations 1 (ages 7+)
Designed for students with little or no prior ballet experience. The fundamentals of ballet are introduced through barre and floor exercises, French terminology and other basic ballet concepts.
Ballet Foundations 2 (ages 7+)
The fundamentals of ballet are continued and students expand beyond the previous level, through barre and floor exercises, French terminology, and other basic ballet concepts. Requires prior ballet training.
No placement class is required to register for Grown-Up & Me, Pre-Ballet (2-6), Pre-Ballet Boys, or Ballet Foundations 1 classes.
