Wednesday, August 21, 2013 - 8:15pm

Experience Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre on tour at the scenic Chautauqua Institution in a trio of works featuring the distinct styles of three ballet innovators. Delight in the playful musicality of Mark Morris’ Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes, set to piano etudes by American composer Virgil Thomson. Then, Antony Tudor’s 20th Century masterpiece Jardin Aux Lilas (Lilac Garden) paints a poignant portrait of the Edwardian Era through the final farewell of two lovers and the music of Ernest Chausson. Finally, in the perfect summer pairing, the worlds of American Doo-wop music and ballet converge in Step Touch, featuring the fast-paced contemporary choreography of Dwight Rhoden.
