Aug 6 - Aug 10, 2012
Karmiel Dance Festival
Monday, August 6, 2012 - 9:00am

In its first overseas tour in nearly 20 years, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will travel to Israel this August to perform at the 25th Anniversary of the Karmiel Dance Festival, which hosts an estimated 5,000 dancers from Israel and abroad and attracts more than 300,000 visitors and guests.

The company’s 2012 Israel Tour will include a performance at Rishon LeZion, another other regional destination. Karmiel and the Misgav region are Pittsburgh’s sister communities in Israel as part of the Partnership2Gether program, a project of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh in cooperation with the Jewish Agency for Israel.

While abroad, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will perform a mixed repertoire of works including George Balanchine's Sylvia Pas de Deux, Mark Morris' Maelstrom and Dwight Rhoden's Step Touch.
