Experience a choreographic power couple when PBT presents two works by Tony and Emmy award-winning choreographer Twyla Tharp. Described by Tharp as “fierce, driving and relentless,” In the Upper Room melds ballet and modern dance in a powerful tour de force driven by Philip Glass’s rhythmic score. In Nine Sinatra Songs, Tharp blends ballet and ballroom movement, elevating the glamour and finesse of social dancing to a dance theatre quality. Buy Tickets. Or, Click here to subscribe today.

Attend a pre- or post-performance discussion through our PBT Connects series, download the audience production guide to learn more about the production, or visit the Promenade (second floor lobby) before the performance and enjoy a ballroom dance demonstration by 6th grade Pittsburgh Public School students in the Dancing Classrooms program. Dancing Classrooms is an arts-in-education program that teaches ballroom dance to students of participating schools as an in-school residency for every child.  The mission for Dancing Classrooms is to build social awareness, confidence and self-esteem in children through the practice of social dance.
