The Nutcracker: Autism-Friendly Performance

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre is proud to be the first professional ballet company in the United States to offer an autism-friendly performance of the annual holiday classic, The Nutcracker! The autism-friendly performance is adapted for people with a wide variety of sensory, intellectual, and social needs to enjoy the performance with their families in a supportive and safe environment. 

PBT has been working with a number of community partners to create accommodations, including lowered light and sound cues and relaxed theater rules, to ensure that our performance meets the sensory needs of a variety of people. For more information about specific adaptations, please visit:
