Audience Enrichment - PBT Connects
"PBT Connects" to its audience with exciting pre-performance programming at the theater.
Insights: These informative and entertaining experiences are held in the perfromance venue prior to a performance. Guests may include members of our resident artistic staff and/or visiting artists.
Afterthoughts: After the performance, members of the audience will be invited to stay and participate in a post-performance conversation with Artistic Director Terrence S. Orr, members of the artistic staff, and dancers. This is an opportunity to ask questions and express your thoughts about the performance you have just seen.
Talks with Terry: On Sunday afternoon from 1:00-1:30 PM, before the subscriber matinee performance, Artistic Director Terrence S. Orr hosts an informal conversation in the theater. Participants have an opportunity to watch the dancers' class on stage and then engage in a conversation with Mr. Orr about ballet, the artists, and the production.
The "Family Pointe": This matinee "insider" preview is a pre-performance program designed to appeal to families with children between the ages of five and fourteen; however, "children" of all ages are welcome. These interactive programs educate and entertain by looking at various aspects of the ballet performance and are held in the Benedum Center rehearsal studios from 12:30-1:30 PM.
Studio Performances: These informal lecture luncheons or studio rehearsals/performances will be held periodically. All events, led by Artistic Director Terrence S. Orr, ballet masters, choreographers, and dancers, will be by invitation. Mr. Orr will discuss the production followed by questions from the audience.
