Additional Student and Teacher Activities
Shadow Study Program: High School Students may apply to accompany a PBT dancer or staff member for a day to explore the activities of a professional ballet company. For students contemplating ballet or arts management as a career.
Student Spotlight: A student newsletter focused on an upcoming ballet and student matinee. Under the direction of their teacher and PBT's Director of Arts Education, students at a local high school interview dancers and other artistic staff, research background on the story and production of a particular ballet, and develop artwork and activities, produce a Student Spotlight newsletter. The publication is distributed to students attending the matinee.
Internship Program: PBT offers the opportunity for college students to work as interns in many departments of the organization, both administrative and artistic. The internships may last from a few weeks to an entire year with a schedule agreeable to both the intern and the department supervisor.
Teachers Advisory Council (TAC): Public and private school teachers in Grades K-12 who are willing to donate their time, ideas, and expertise in the ongoing development of effective programs, materials and activities that encourage and develop knowledge, appreciation, and love of ballet in young people. TAC meets semi-annually and is limited to 25 members at each meeting.
